So honestly there is so much to update on that it has left me completely unmotivated to blog! But here I am attempting to start somewhere. So let me be a lesson to all you bloggers out there, don't get behind or catching up will nearly kill you...or never happen for that matter!
Okay, so I'm just going to write about one thing today and for each blog post here after and see if I cant slowly chip away at the mountain of memories and fun we had over this past spring and summer. It's a pretty big 'one thing' for today so I figure it's a good place to start!
The Pyne family moved to Utah in July!!! Yup, you read right. We are back in good ol' UT!
Here's the story:
My Dad had been heavily recruiting David for a while to come work for his company and take on the position of 'Head of Operations'. We knew that it had the potential to be a really good business move for us so after many months of praying and some convincing from the hubby, ;) we decided it was the right thing to do and packed up our little family and made the move! Let me tell you though, to this day it has been one of the toughest decisions we've made. I'll tell you why. Yes, we were so excited to move back near family and friends, for David to have such a huge step up in the workforce world just a year after graduating and also for the opportunity to come in at ground level in my Dad's fast growing company...all very great things, but words can not describe how much we knew we'd miss our AZ friends and where we lived! Seriously, I have never lived in a place for that short of a time and made such real, life long friends as we did in Mesa. I became such a different/better person and grew so much in just the little over a year we lived there. I could probably write a novel about all things wonderful in our Riverview Ward/Stake and the inspiring, amzing, beautiful people we met there! I tell ya, never in all the many different states we've lived in have we ever felt more immediately loved, welcomed and accepted by so many great people. As you can see, Mesa will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Also to make matters harder it wasn't like David hated his job at Honeywell either, it was a really really good job and he LOVED it, plus he was dang good at too! (wife pride, sorry!) So all in all we had to choose between two really great things, which are always the toughest decisions to make! But we are so happy to be here and David is loving his new position. I couldn't ask for more and we feel really blessed to be where we are.
When we first moved out here the plan was to buy our first home pretty quickly. House hunting was in full swing which was really exciting but after walking thru quite a few homes we both had a feeling that the timing just wasn't right. With our second baby coming this year and needing to buy a second car at some point we felt it would be best for us to hang tight for a few months and take advantage of the opportunity to save and double what we already put away each month while we can! So here we are, living in my parents gorgeous basement apartment and feeling pretty good about it! They've made it pretty cushy for us here that we may just never leave...kidding! But seriously. who doesn't love a live-in FREE babysitter anytime you need one(thanks mom!!!), delicious dinners(thanks mom!!!), and family around (my sister and her cute family live right next door too!). It's a party all the time and loads of fun to be a part of. We are so spoiled, but a wise person once told me that it's okay to be spoiled as long as you're grateful. So cheers to being immensely grateful, a new job opportunity, baby #2 on the way, moving to UT and hopefully making millions....traveling the world and living on the beach in Bora Bora!
